June 2008
In January 2003 I went to Havana for the second time. During the second week, I wandered into the Taller Experimenta de Grafica print shop and saw 3 litho presses, hundreds of stones, 9 etching presses and one hand iron press. There were two-dozen artists and printers inking and printing. There was a lot of good art to be seen in the gallery, on the print shop walls and propped into the corners. I quickly found out I could rent time, space and help. Here was the place where I could drink rum, smoke cigars and print alongside Cuban artists! I was in heaven. . .

Fortunately, there are a few - a very few - exemptions: publications, informational material and artwork. . .
